Medical Visit to RSA
Approval to travel is issued by the South African High Commission Follow the following steps: • Obtain appointment with the medical facility/Dr. in RSA. • Obtain Lesotho Ministry of Health approval (liaise with Dr. Mojela at 266 5940 2540). • Obtain approval to travel at the RSA High Commission, in Maseru. NB. - According to RSA High Commission Office, routine or non-critical appointments are not allowed at this time. Only critical cases are given authorisation to travel. - The Doctor in South Africa also needs to confirm that the person is being driven or accompanied. If that is the case special Border Health Screening Forms must be completed by Dr Mojela to enable movement across the border post). - For medical appointments, same day movement is required. If this is not possible detailed motivation and confirmation from the specialist in South Africa is required
Studying in RSA Observe the following steps: • Produce the following documents at the Border Post: o Student Identification Document (School ID) card. o Relevant completed and signed documentation and forms (3A forms for scholars, 3B forms for parents and daily transporters). o A valid passport The following conditions hold for these travellers: • Adherence to all Ministry of Health protocols (daily screening at the point of entry, completion, and submission of a self-monitoring form, mandatory Covid-19 test when required to do so). Daily commuting scholars Observe the following steps: • With a student ID or school letter confirming candidacy, go to the school (allowance will be given by the RSA Department Home Affairs at the border post to proceed to school). • The school will issue out Forms 3A and 3B (for parents and daily transporters). These forms MUST be returned to the border post to enable entry back into Lesotho. The forms serve as permits for movement across the border and within the RSA only for that purpose. Migrant workers to RSA
Miners Observe the following steps: • Report to TEBA offices in Lesotho. • Communication of departure lists with accompanying passports by TEBA to RSA High Commission Office and to the Border Post.
